Complete Workflow for POS Customer Credit Management Odoo App
To get started with the POS Customer Credit Management Odoo App module, first install it from the Apps menu. Once installed, go to Invoicing/Accounting > Configuration > Journals and mark the journal you want to use for credit payments by enabling the POS Credit Journal option on it. Next, navigate to Point of Sale > Configuration > Payment Methods and create a new payment method. Enable the POS Customer Credit checkbox on it, then select the credit journal you just marked — this keeps your credit payments properly separated from regular cash and bank methods. Add this payment method to the relevant shop under Point of Sale > Configuration > Point of Sale, by including it in that shop's list of Payment Methods. On the same settings page, use the Customer Credit at POS option to choose whether cashiers can offer this credit option, or whether only the standard POS methods should be available. To give a customer some credit to spend, open their contact record and use the Credit smart button — from there you can either add credit instantly with a simple top-up, or record it as a formal payment against your accounts. Once set up, cashiers will see the Customer Credit option at the payment screen whenever a customer with available credit is selected, and can apply it toward the order in full or combined with other payment methods. Every top-up and every credit payment made at the POS is automatically logged on the customer's profile, giving you a complete, always-up-to-date history of their balance.
